Chandan Yatra Celebration

Sunday, July 17, 2016

We will celebrate CHANDAN YATRA on Sunday, July 17, 2016, this year. This is the hottest time of year here in Florida, and the offering of sandalwood paste is cooling and refreshing. This ancient festival is carried on all over India and at all of our ISKCON temples too. It’s a joyful occasion for all to see the Lord enjoying being covered in colored sandalwood paste decorated with outfits made entirely of flowers. New schedule for darshan of the final chandan and flower outfit: The chandan and outfit will be offered during the morning after the Deity greeting. The curtains will open again at noon for the first darshan.

If you would like to contribute for this beautiful festival, please click below to make a donation. WE STILL NEED DONATIONS FOR KRISHNA BALARAMA’S ($800) FLOWER OUTFIT.

Grinding chandan
We need a lot of sandalwood paste if we hope to cover Sri Sri Radhe Shyam, Sri Sri Krishna Balarama, and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. Please stop by the pujari room and pick up a block of sandalwood and a grinding stone. You can work during classes or at home even. If we don’t get more chandan paste, we will only be able to cover Sri Sri Radhe Shyam this year.
